Genocide Taking Place In Darfur

On Sunday celebrities, lawmakers, activists and thousands of concerned people gathered and joined forces to call for the ending of the genocide, which is taking place in Sudan's Darfur region.

The United Nations, says they our running out of aid money. They have cut the food supply for more than 6 million people. 3 Million of those people are our brothers and sisters in Darfur.

Yet, this was said in 2004, when former U.S. Secretary of State, Colin Powell addressed the U.N. with evidence this was a genocide. Therefore, stating Darfur's need for aid, help and funding. Disease and malnutrition has taken over their land. They are nearing a famine.

They are in need of the most basic of things. Water, food, housing and safety is of the utmost importance.

What's Taking Place In Darfur? Women and children are being raped and tortured. And, they are slaughtering and murdering their men. The Sudanese Military are the crusaders for this violence and are aligned with the Arab Janjaweed militias.

400,000 thousand people have lost their lives and 2.5 million are displaced, due to violence. THESE PEOPLE, are no different than You nor I. They love their children and want the same things for their children, as we want for ours. They are in pursuant of a good life. They toil everyday on their land and in their fields. These are families.

And, if you have a child, a grandchild, a niece, a nephew - Just stop for a moment & think about that innocent little person out in a war torn world, being raped and beaten, abused and hungry and homeless. Can you hear the gun fire? Can you hear their bellies growling? Can you see their fear? Can you see the tears run down their faces? Then, what are you going to do about it?

You're going to give up a pack of cigarettes right. Or, how about just one large cappucino. Maybe not buy a CD or DVD this month. If you just send $1 don't you know that will be a tremendous help. Everyone's one dollar adds up.

Send a donation, write your State Reps and Senators. Contact George W. Bush and let's remind him, that he holds the title of President. Sign the online petition and postcard, it's time to bring this genocide to an end. www.savedarfur.org
